There is this girl, well not a girl a woman. She lives in Washington state and was until very recently an employee of the USPS. She is also an internet junkie like me.

So, where do internet junkies meet then? They are the kind that are very private (for the most part), reclusive, maybe a bit neurotic, quiet, and don’t socialize well even with their own kind. Normally they meet online as we did, they talk to each other (there’s safety in being hidden behind a keyboard) and commiserate their loneliness by bantering about technical topics, current events, general info, common knowledge, and insults.

We talked about everything (with the exception of insults) and came to find that we both carry floss, it takes a while to get comfortable with people, love good music, miss xfiles, forget to eat, been to London and want to travel more, drink coffee at midnight, don’t dress in excess, love the rain, and want something forever.

We also both get nervous when the other gets quiet.

And now we’ve found that we love each other and we are excited about each other in ways I had no idea were possible. She touches my heart, my soul, my mind and I love her with everything that I have.

When she’s not around I miss her and I think about the last time we were together, at the airport watching her walk away. I smell her hair and the feeling of my fingers touching her cheek lingers with me.

In a very very few days I’m flying out to meet her in Vancouver. We will drive to her apartment, we will see Seattle and some friends, then load a truck and drive back to Calgary.

And if she will let me….

The future is wide open.

me: “You really intrigue me”
me: “I like that”
her: “one day I won’t be intriguing though.”
her: “you’ll know all my stories”
me: “but we will still have coffee at midnight”
me: “and the smell of rain”
her: “and we can make new stories”

oh ya, we will.
